BUSINESS OWNERS Why We Work With Business Owners
Most financial advisors will tell you they work with everyone. We made a different choice. Our focus has been on small business owners who are approaching one of the most significant financial moments of their lives: the transition out of the business they built.
That focus didn't happen by accident. Before founding this practice, Chris Blahut spent years at a large firm working alongside business owners and watching a pattern emerge. The financial planning world had plenty of tools for managing wealth after a liquidity event. What it didn't have, at least not consistently, was a structured way to prepare owners for the moment before the event. The gap wasn't in the products available. It was in the process. That observation shaped everything that followed.

How We Approach The Work
When the Exit Planning Institute introduced the Value Acceleration Methodology, it gave a name and a framework to what we had already come to believe: that exit planning and business strategy are the same thing, and that the personal and financial dimensions of an owner's life have to be planned together, not separately.
Today, that methodology sits at the center of how we work. It means we're not waiting for a business owner to call us the week they decide to sell. We're working with them years before that call needs to happen, helping them build a business that is ready to transfer, and a personal financial picture that is ready to receive whatever that transfer produces.
The three things we come back to in every client relationship are effort and execution on a real plan, genuine respect for what a client values and what they've built, and a commitment to preserving the wealth that comes out the other side.
Who We Serve
Our clients are small business owners in the South Carolina Lowcountry and the Savannah, Georgia area. They've typically built something meaningful, a business with real revenue and real people depending on it, and they're beginning to think seriously about what an exit could look like. Some have a timeline in mind. Others are just starting to ask the right questions.
What they share is a desire to be prepared before the moment arrives, not scrambling to catch up after it does. That's exactly the kind of work we're here to do.

The Right Time To Start Is
Before You Think You Need To
Most owners who wish they had planned earlier didn't lack the intention; they simply didn't have someone prompting the conversation at the right moment. If you're beginning to think about what a transition could look like, that moment is now, and we'd welcome the chance to sit down and talk through it with you.
